Let Go of What Was...

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓… if you’re not willing to move on from what was.

In a 7 year span… WOW-Women of Worth went from a local group, to a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization. I was nervous, I was scared, but I was determined to make a difference. In fact, I took an even “crazier” risk by hosting annual faith-based community women’s conferences; with no real idea of how they would turn out. My first two were a huge undertaking (the first had about 10 people total )—but I did not care, as long as I reached someone. The second conference reached/had about 200 attendees…so I was extremely excited And the next one had a whopping 700+, and so on. So yep…I was completely over the moon! And was totally in my vein for that time.

I hosted my final conference in 2018 , (which was another HUGE success) and I then felt compelled to restructure the organization/move on to something different. And some would say, why stop now…the “crowds” are coming!? But…God really showed me early on that “crowds” alone was not the main goal. Impact and transformation was (and having a sustainable plan).

And while I could go into greater details about some of the many things my husband and I transitioned into next, I’ll get straight to the overall objective of this particular post…which is: it’s OK to transition. Some things are for a lifetime, while others are for a season. Knowing the difference—and having the humility and wisdom to do so is key.

All of that to say…whenever God is trying to stretch your capacity and train you for the future, you must be OPEN and WILLING to SHIFT. Appreciate the past…but don’t idolize it. Thus, when God says GO, I kindly encourage you to GO.

And when I say he never disappoints, I do mean he NEVER disappoints. He may switch it up—and things may “feel” shaky at times. But I am living proof that he knows EXACTLY what he’s doing!!

Trust the process .
