Thereโ€™s no rest like the rest God gives. The more I grow & mature in God, the more care free I become. Granted, itโ€™s not an end of all labor, but it is an end to fruitless, self driven, empty, unfulfilling labor.

And for further explanation/why I have this pic displayed, is to give you a visual of what Jesus offers.

A yoke is a heavy wooden harness that fits over the shoulders of an ox or oxen. It is attached to a piece of equipment the oxen are to pull. A โ€œheavy ladenโ€ animal has a big load to pull. Similarly, a โ€œheavy ladenโ€ person has a huge load to carry, and may be burdened with:

  • Sin

  • Excessive demands of religious leaders

  • Oppression and persecution

  • Weariness in search for God

  • Trauma

  • Identity crisis

  • Betrayal and more.

Jesus frees people from all these burdens. The โ€˜restโ€™ Jesus promises is love, healing, and peace with God, not the end of all effort.

In essence, a relationship with God changes meaningless toil into spiritual productivity and purpose.

โ€œCome unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.โ€ ~Matthewโ€ฌ โ€ญ11โ€ฌ:โ€ญ28โ€ฌ-โ€ญ30โ€ฌ โ€ญASVโ€ฌโ€ฌ
