End the Rat Race...

End 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑟𝑎𝑡 𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑒…

𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭.

There’s no rest like the rest God gives. The more I grow & mature in God, the more care free I become. Granted, it’s not an end of all labor, but it is an end to fruitless, self driven, empty, unfulfilling labor.

And for further explanation/why I have this pic displayed, is to give you a visual of what Jesus offers.

A yoke is a heavy wooden harness that fits over the shoulders of an ox or oxen. It is attached to a piece of equipment the oxen are to pull. A “heavy laden” animal has a big load to pull. Similarly, a “heavy laden” person has a huge load to carry, and may be burdened with:

• Sin

• Excessive demands of religious leaders

• Oppression and persecution

• Weariness in search for God

• Trauma

• Identity crisis

• Betrayal and more.

Jesus frees people from all these burdens. The ‘rest’ Jesus promises is love, healing, and peace with God, not the end of all effort.

In essence, a relationship with God changes meaningless toil into spiritual productivity and purpose.

“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” ~Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭ASV‬‬
