God's Path

Friday thoughts  Hopefully, this will help somebody change their perspective.

10.18.24 | By Canena Adams  | God’s Path

This morning, my walk reminded me of an important truth. It was still dark outside, but the path was lit up along the streets, making it easy to keep going despite the surrounding darkness. As long as I stayed on the path where the light was, I had no worries about what I couldn’t see. And that’s exactly how life with God works. Even when we are surrounded by uncertainty, rejection, or opposition, as long as we stay on the path He’s lighting up for us, we’re safe in His plan.

We often hear people talk about blessings in the form of money, cars, houses, connections, popularity, influence, etc. But one thing about God—His blessings are often associated with redirection, transition, rejection, lost connections, new places, and new faces. What society calls “blessed” can be a very shallow view. In fact, we are reminded in Matthew 6:33 to “seek first His kingdom”, and all the things most people are chasing after will be added by God when we put Him first.

So, here’s the point: Can you embrace your blessings when they come in the form of rejection, opposition, being ostracized, or misunderstood? Can you accept it when your character is attacked, but you can’t respond the way you want? When you’re used and mistreated, can you trust God instead of fighting your own battles?

Just like staying in the light during my walk this morning, God’s process is about staying on His path. He calls us to seek His Kingdom first and let Him add to our lives—rather than chasing things He’s already willing to give freely.

Kingdom  blessings come a little differently. At first, the process feels unfair and uncomfortable. But if you trust, respect, and embrace it, you’ll always end up with more than the world could ever offer (I feel my help…)! Y’all might not like or want this type of gospel—but it’s true anyhow! : )

If I could say one thing, it’s this: God will blow your mind if you embrace His plan, walk through His process, and stop chasing the things He already wants to give! You won’t be the most popular, or everyone’s cup of tea . And you shouldn’t be—you’re different on purpose and for a purpose! Count the rejection, hardships, and struggles as blessings, and watch God work!

It’s not a cakewalk, but the reward at the end of each journey and path He has you on will rock you to your core—in the most marvelous way possible!
