Hidden on Purpose

You carry something hell is scared of. Keep going. They say some people would’ve treated you better if they knew who you were becoming. But truth is, God hid you on purpose.

Just like David. Before anybody knew his name, he was out in the field. Overlooked. Forgotten. Didn’t even get invited to the table. But God was shaping him in the quiet for what He was about to reveal in public. And it was so much bigger than what anybody even realized—including the ones closest to him.

Even Saul tried to “help” by giving David his armor (1 Samuel 17:38–39). But David said, “I cannot go in these… I am not used to them.” Saul may have meant well—but God didn’t want David to fight with what man thought he needed. He was showing that when He sends you, you don’t need to borrow anyone’s armor, title, approval, or platform.

Maybe God didn’t let David wear Saul’s armor because He already saw the pride and insecurity that would later rise up in Saul’s heart. All help ain’t good help. And all help isn’t God-sent.

Don’t let the pressure of this performance-driven world cause you to move in a way God never intended. Don’t despise your preparation time. That hidden place is holy ground.

And hear this—you don’t have to be known by the masses to make a massive impact. Nobody even knew who David was. Not even Saul. “Whose son is this?” he asked (1 Samuel 17:55). But God knew. And that’s why David didn’t need their permission, affirmation, validation, or armor.

He wasn’t trying to duplicate Saul. He showed up as David. The son of Jesse. And he came in the name of the Lord. As he said in 1 Samuel 17:45: “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”

I love when God allows us to look small just to show how big He is in us. God is about to flex in some of y’all. Keep prepping behind the scenes. Stay faithful in the quiet. And when He tells you to go forth, they’ll laugh. They’ll mock. They’ll chatter. But then… He’ll move. And they won’t be able to deny who sent you.

Being hidden doesn’t mean you’re not chosen. It just means He’s still working—for something only He can get the glory for. After all...it's BIGGER than you!
