Let Go of What Was...
๐๐จ๐ฎ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ง๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐ ๐๐ญ ๐ฐ๐ก๐๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ ๐ก๐๐ฌ ๐๐๐๐โฆ if youโre not willing to move on from what was.
In a 7 year spanโฆ WOW-Women of Worth went from a local group, to a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization. I was nervous, I was scared, but I was determined to make a difference. In fact, I took an even โcrazierโ risk by hosting annual faith-based community womenโs conferences; with no real idea of how they would turn out. My first two were a huge undertaking (the first had about 10 people total )โbut I did not care, as long as I reached someone. The second conference reached/had about 200 attendeesโฆso I was extremely excited And the next one had a whopping 700+, and so on. So yepโฆI was completely over the moon! And was totally in my vein for that time.
I hosted my final conference in 2018 , (which was another HUGE success) and I then felt compelled to restructure the organization/move on to something different. And some would say, why stop nowโฆthe โcrowdsโ are coming!? ButโฆGod really showed me early on that โcrowdsโ alone was not the main goal. Impact and transformation was (and having a sustainable plan).
And while I could go into greater details about some of the many things my husband and I transitioned into next, Iโll get straight to the overall objective of this particular postโฆwhich is: itโs OK to transition. Some things are for a lifetime, while others are for a season. Knowing the differenceโand having the humility and wisdom to do so is key.
All of that to sayโฆwhenever God is trying to stretch your capacity and train you for the future, you must be OPEN and WILLING to SHIFT. Appreciate the pastโฆbut donโt idolize it. Thus, when God says GO, I kindly encourage you to GO.
And when I say he never disappoints, I do mean he NEVER disappoints. He may switch it upโand things may โfeelโ shaky at times. But I am living proof that he knows EXACTLY what heโs doing!!
Trust the process.
